We all have to start somewhere

I'm beginning this post by throwing it back to 2013, yes... 6 years ago! The love of photography began with a gift. A gift from a close friend, the book 'Humans of New York' - now if you've not already come across the work in this book, you definitely should! It inspired me to be who I am today, obviously other things inspired me too but this was a huge starting point. The mere fact that every single person you walk past in any town or in any street at any moment has a story to tell is incredible. Brandon Stanton, the photographer and writer behind the Humans of New York blog, has the ability to capture the raw emotion of a any passerby after just a few moments talking with them. The innocence, the cheekiness, the sadness, the realness. That's what made me fall in love and inspired me to capture the stories people have to tell, small or big, rather than a quick, posed photograph.

If there's anything I'd pass on from his work, it is that life passes you by so fast, so capture the moment now, capture the essence of your cheeky three year old little girl, the not so innocence of a six month old baby trying solid foods for the first time and the bond of love between a mother and her child.

As cliche as it sounds, it all started with a dream... It has to. To make those dreams become a reality, you have to put the hard work in consistently. So, here I am 6 years later and I definitely did not foresee packing my whole life up and moving 500 miles across the sea to reach for my dreams... but my god it was worth it.

The first studio work had A LOT to improve on but I had an ample amount of passion and channelled it into being better. I can proudly say with confidence that after several training classes, collaborations with companies, and years of full time education - I now create beautiful, timeless portraits for each and every family to cherish. The growth will never stop as there is always learning to be done but the joy it gives me to present such images like the ones below... you can't put it into words. I adore that I can do what I love to do, it's true what they say... "Do what you love, and you'll never work another day in your life."
