Prepare for your Newborn Photography Session
Most new parents won’t know what to expect during their newborn baby photography session so I’ve included some helpful information here to prepare and help ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. If I’ve left anything out feel free to let me know in the comments section below.

Stay awake
I ask parents to try keeping baby awake for the hour before I am due to arrive. If all fails, I suggest a bath. The sleepier he is the smoother the session will be and the better the outcome.
Feeding time
Feeding just before I am due to your home is advisable and I know babies have a mind and schedule of their own so if that doesn’t work out that’s ok. It’s just ideal for him to eat, relax and have a full tummy when we start.

Time to strip
When you do the last feeding baby can be undressed with a nappy or dressed in something that doesn’t need to go over the head. He can even be wrapped up in a blanket. For many newborns, clothes don’t always fit perfectly so most of the time I will keep them in a swaddle or just a simple babygro or vest.

That’s it really, there isn’t much to it. What we want to achieve here is a content baby who is happy to chill while I take some photos. I want to capture the essence of your baby and I am happy for them to lead the way. You will take away something unique from your newborn baby photography session.
