I was planning to go for lunch with a couple of friends the other week and I suggested one place. They'd all never been there before. I was shocked as they were all from Belfast and I am not but they had pointed out I come from a 'Tourist' point of view so have tried all of the top spots. So I thought I'd compile my top five places for lunch.

1. Yardbird

If you like Chicken chicken or chicken.. this is a fabulous place. They do have a vegetarian option. You can find this in the cathedral quarter near the Harp. Lunch is served 12pm-5pm every day. We have two £5.95 lunch offers- our Yardburrito and chips/nachos or 1/4 chicken and a choice of side (take your pick, they’re all good!) My view on it is that it's basically a cheaper, more authentic and fresher version of Nandos. Even the side order of coleslaw is delicious and the smokey sauce on the table is so yummy with sweet potato fries.

2. Laverys

This place is great if you want value for money. I have had the scooby snack and I struggled to finish it! It's huge and delicious!

Laverys has two bars, so if you want a pub vibe or watch the football with a meal go to the Laverys bar BUT if you want more of a sit down restaurant vibe go to woodworkers ONLY NEXT DOOR. It's the same chef, same company just different vibes to cater for all! Isn't that great!

3. Stix and Stones

If you love steak, come here!! If you haven't done so.. you're just mad. It is a more sit down and dine experience than other places i've suggested however if you go to the pre-theatre menu " served Monday - Friday from 17:00 - 18:30." So I guess it's more an early dinner but it's so much cheaper than normal just because it's that 'time'. So hop over straight after work or something!

4. Revoluvion de Cuba

I find this a great place if you're with a friend or partner and are only peckish. You're not sure what you want but you want a bit of this and a bit of that. OR you're someone that likes to take the odd thing or two off your friends plate because it looks nicer than yours. If so, the tapas menu is great for you then! You get small plates of 3 items for just £14 which is £7 each which is an average price for lunch anyway!

5. Benedicts

The food here is delicious! I've been here for my Graduation menu and Cocktails and Christmas dinners and general meals!

Plus it's only across the road from Laverys. One thing to note with Benedicts is they have a strictly no trainer/tracksuit policy after 6pm.
