One of the big reasons I love Belfast is because everything is so reachable with a short space of time! You can be in Belfast City Centre from a 15 minute walk from my photography studio, or the beautiful Ormeau park in a 5 minute walk (Utterly beautiful at this time of year with autumn leaves falling).

I thought I'd gather up my Top 10 activities in Belfast to do with kids if you ever get stuck on what or where to go one weekend!

1. Streamvale Open Farm!

www.streamvale.com

To be honest even you adults will love it - I sure did! Although that's probably because I ran to the puppy cuddle corner straight away and cuddled into the cutest sleepy puppy labrador ever for agesssss. I contemplated running away with it... but I didn't! You could easily spend a whole afternoon here or morning - They have various classes on during set times such as feeding the lambs, or play time with puppies etc.. Everything possible that gives every age group a chance to get involved.

For it to be only 15 minutes away from Belfast, how can you not ?

I've even seen recently they have an upcoming Halloween pumpkin Patch event on their Facebook page - Be sure to take a look! I'll definitely be there.

"They can then pick their own pumpkin and wheel it back up the field to our new designated carving marquee where our staff will be on hand to help...Every paying child to the farm will receive a pumpkin!" - Streamvale Open Farm

Running from 20th to the 31st of October so you better take a look now and book your ticket!

2. Crawfordsburn Country Park

Crawfordsburn Country Park, Bangor

I've done so many beautiful outdoor sessions here!

This is utterly the best of both worlds. If you have a dog, you can tire the dog AND the children out haha!

A little further than surroundings of Belfast but it's only a 20 minute drive and it is so worth it!

In the visitor centre there are lots of information for little one's about bugs and wildlife to teach them about before setting off into the beautiful forest to see if they can spot any during your journey. Plus the waterfall to listen out for and discover during the walk!

If you've a young one that can't walk, I advise having them in a baby carrier just because it can get bit bumpy on some areas in a pushchair or if it's been raining (usually has been in Northern Ireland here), you might get stuck!

*This is also a very dog friendly area with lots of dog bowls and areas to tie your dogs lead to while you sit with a cup of tea in the seating area outside the cafe. Just incase one of your little lovelies are afraid of pooches.*

3. WE ARE VERTIGO!

We Are Vertigo, Belfast

This is such fun! Even for adults, re-live your kiddie days and just be silly. I am so thankful my parents were silly and were able to do things like this with me growing up. It's not the same bonding session when you send them off to do it on their own.

It's one hour of constant fun - their is basketball, dodgeball, total wipeout stuff and general trampoline bouncing!

4. IKEA

I'm doing it - Ikea is in the list. I mean the whole lay out of the shop is like a maze so there is game one.. tick!

It takes me a good couple of hours to dander around the whole store so this is definitely a fun filled afternoon or morning which can be finished up with a nice brew in the cafe watching planes take off!

Secondly, why not turn shopping into fun? "Who can find me a silver pot? Who can find me a yellow throw?" At this rate they're running laps around the store for things you need or probably don't need *In my case, you end up coming home with both!*... and you're giving them fun and exercise!

They even have a children's free play area inside!

5. Aunt Sandras Handmade Candy

Everyones gotta have a treat some time haven't they! Well especially at this store, where they've just renovated into a bigger and better store.. there is endless sweets and fun and even chocolate workshops you can book onto yum yum!

Do you have any added recommendations?
